I am just beginning to research my mothers condition as it is getting worse almost daily now. She just recently had her 51st birthday.

1.) I know she has had debilitating migraines since she was a teenager. These never have been tiny headaches, they would lay her up for days if not over a week.

2.) 5 years ago she had an MRI and they found a Meningioma tumor in her brain. The doctors have always said it should be left alone as it isn't cancerous and most likely will not hurt her.

3.) To try and relieve migraines as well as other issues she was having they did a hysterectomy.

4.) Over the last year my mothers headaches have progressed and she has started to have seizures when she throws up. She now gets a migraine at least once a week that lasts anywhere from 1 day to 5 days.

5.) There have not been any doctors here who seem to understand what may be going on with her. The frequency of these episodes has increased so much so I am worried she may end up having a seizure while driving. She has fallen hard enough to put holes in the wall and leave massive bruises on her body.

CAN ANYONE point me in the right direction? A good Neurologist or otherwise that may actually be able to get to the bottom of this?

Partial or generalized seizures?

If she has had a seizure she should not bedriving. Different states have different laws, but most do ot allow people with seizures to drive unless they have been seizure free for 3-6 months.

Has she had a repeat MRI? An EEG? - She does need to be seen by a neurologist.

A meningioma, though generally slow growing, can get to a size where it physically cause problems with other brain functions.

As far as I know (since my mother keeps mostly to herself and I have to pry information from my father)... she has seen several neurologists and had repeat MRI's...

Her seizures only occur when she has a migraine AND is throwing up...

Do you know what meds she is taking for the migraine and/or seizures?

Her migraines need to be properly addressed by a good neurologist. I had migraines and after I took the prescribed medicine for about 9 months my migraines went away permanently. Apparently her condition is caused by the tumor they found in her head. That needs to be addressed as having seizures is more than likely the by-product of the tumor. She should not drive a car or be alone much until this problem is properly corrected if she gets seizures that bad and are getting worse. I worked with a man of about 50 some not too long ago who kept having horrible headaches. He went for an eye exam and the optomatrist looked into his eye and what he saw was not good. He told the man to immediately see a neurologist. He did and then went into the hospital for an operation to remove a tumor on his pitutary gland. He's still recovering some months later now. Insist she keep seeing doctors until the proper diagnosis is made and she gets some relief and help from this. Migraines that bad where you have to throw up are not pleasant. She could have some very serious problems that are just not being found right now.

I agree with this entirely. Especially the last statement about how she could have some very serious problems that are just not being found right now.

My mother had terrible migraine headaches for several years as well. She would have a headache constantly that would last for days-eventually weeks-at a time.
She had very high blood pressure (which wasn't discovered until much later in life. She had gone to her doc. Who took her blood pressure and said it was fine... A week later, went to a different doctor who told her that she had very high blood pressure and that she was on the virge of a heart attack. Two weeks later, she had one.) 3 years down the road... She ended up having a stroke. My mother is deceased now because of that. She was 51 when she died.

I hope it is not improper of me telling you that as my intention is not to hurt or scare you-it is only to tell you to keep going to the doctor, get 2nd, 3rd opinions, whatever you have to do-to get your mother the proper attention/medication that she deserves to live a longer and healthier life.

Sheesh! How can you screw up taking blood pressure. It's so easy manually and automatically. It's not rocket science. I feel sorry for you and you deceased mom.
