Hi I'm looking to start a business in atlanta part time when I emigrate there this summer. I will be on my parents business visa and I'm looking to start a music production company and music publishing company while I'm over there. Possibly llc.

Obviosly ill be a resident but not a citizen and I a bit unsure if and how I can do it.

If I can do it I will definitely get a lawyer to help me start my company.

As family of E-2 visa holder, you can start a business or invest in any legitimate businesses in US.

That's great! Do you know of a site or forum where I would be able to find information of how to start? Or do you know what's the best thing to do?

Requirements vary in each state, and type of businesses. Consult attorney in your state for conditions and aspects that you need to be aware of, etc.

Thanks. I may have to speak to my parents lawyer

Would I be able to invest in my parents business (sole propieter) and obtain a 10% equity?

There are different avenues you may try, since there is no info and you already have an attorney, better get consultation from professional.

First how old are you, but a busienss license is done though the city, so will it be in Atlanta, in Norcross, in Marietta or where?
Since you would get your license from that city.
