Hello,
I just installed a HP Photosmart HPC7280 printer/fax/scanner/copier.

I have digital phone service.

I am unable to send/receive faxes with the digital phone service.

I am told I can buy a DSL filter which will allow me to send/receviefax.

Would anyone know what type/model DSL filter I need to get?

Thank you.

Charlie

Confused.

Filters should be on all of your equipment that are telephone like which would include the fax machine.

Any DSL filter will do. There are different choices, but it's mainly implementation. For this, a simple one port filter will work.

You still may have trouble sending faxes and you may have to limit the fax speed to 9600 bps. In general high speed modems are not compatible with VOIP or digital phone service. It's speed dependent.

Faxing is an analog process. Not all VoIP services allow faxing. Who is telling you you need a DSL filter to work and what aren't they giving you specifics?
