View Full Version : Negative test, period. But I'm still paranoid!

Hello everyone,

I had unprotected sex last month; according to the ovulation calendars I used online, I shouldn't have been ovulating on the day of the intercourse but there was a chance that I could have. (it was 2-3 days after the day that I should have been ovulating) My partner didn't ejaculate.

I suffer a little bit from anxiety so I've been really paranoid lately.

I got my period on time, it was normal, I didn't notice any changes in my period. Even after it, I was paranoid so I took the clear blue digital pregnancy test about a week after my period was done and it was negative.

I have another test lying around so I was wondering if there was any good recommended time I could take it again... because I heard that some women get negative test and periods during their periods...

IF for some reason I am pregnant, I would be about 3-4 weeks now... I haven't noticed any symptoms, no changes in my body except occasional cramps (which go away after couple hours).

Am I just being really paranoid?
Oh, and could a normal check up at the family doctor (if they draw my blood) reveal pregnancy? (this question is for a friend)

Thank you so much for all your help!

I'm sorry that you suffer from high anxiety. And on this subject its better safe than sorry. So a little paranoia is fine. All the signs point to you not being pregnant. But if it'll relieve the anxiety and stress, then I say book a doc appt and get that blood test.

On the flip side, if you are really that anxiety ridden about being pregnant, why did you have unprotected sex? You should have used a condom and are you on birth control? If not, I would highly recommend it. You sound like you are not yet ready for a child, so I say go for it.
