 How in the world do you put the drive belt back on the pulleys after it has slipped off. It seems like I would have to break down the whole mower to get to it. Any help out there in 'AskMe' land? I have an MTD 12.5hp front engine mower.

Model # and serial so we can look it up?
Either belts are held by idlers or one of the end pulley mounts slide in a slot.

Hi KISS,
I have an MTD 12.5hp riding mower that is very old. The Model # is 13AL667F118. 38 inch cut. I have removed the battery and box holder. I see the belt has slipped off but I don't see how I can get it back on or better yet, replace it. I'm handy with tools and will try whatever you say to try. Thanks for any help. Jack M.

Sears doesn't have a diagram online. MTD Products Landing Page (http://www.mtdonline.com) requires a serial number to look anything up.
Remember, something has to move. Either an idlier or the engine or something. Typically there are slots and you loosen the bolts such as the engine mount.
You cannot just pop a belt back on. They are not like vacuum cleaner belts that stretch.

Thanks KISS. I'll hang it up and wash it down and see what I can do and see what's under there. I appreciate your help. Jack
