I was recently awarded a $5.7million inheritance from a late uncle (all cash) and am curious of what the inheritance tax will be on such a large sum. I live in CA, but he lived in OR. If anyone can answer or direct me to where I can find the information, it would be appreciated. The internet has many conflicting answers and this is not anything I am familiar with. You really need to ask a tax lawyer or a certified EA ( tax expert ) as to what your liabilities will be.

You need to talk to an accountant. I could tell you exactly how everything would go down in my state but that really wouldn't do you any good because California is different.
