I'm trying to switch internet security programs. One of the directions is to remove the Trend program because it's not compatible with AT&T/Yahoo's. I have tried many times to uninstall Trend but it will not go away. I even changed the date on my computer to one that is after the programs ending date and that didn't do any good.

I'm running XP on a Dell Inspiron E1705.

Any suggestions?

Have you gone to Control Panel, Programs (it should bring up a list of your current programs) , then scroll down to the one you want to delete and right click on it, you should then be given the option to uninstall, update or to rename. Obviously hit uninstall. This should prompt the uninstall wizard to begin and remove the program from your hard drive. If you have already tried that and it doesn't work let me know and I will do some digging and hopefully get back to you! I hope that helped.

Thanks Batgirl for the reply

Yes, have been to control panel and clicked the remove button. A window opens and says Microsoft is configuring trend and after a couple of minutes the window closes and nothing else has happened. I'm confused.

These are instructions I got from Trend Micro when I has ti uninstall and reinstall:
If there is an existing PC-cillin program, please uninstall it using TAVTOOL: 1. Close the Trend Micro AntiVirus main console if it is open. 2. Go to the C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Anti Virus (depends on the program version you are about to uninstall) folder. 3. Double-click the TAVTOOL.exe file. This opens the support tool window. 4. Click the [E] Uninstall tab. 5. Under Install and Uninstall, click 4. Uninstall 6. Click Uninstall 7. Click Yes. Your computer will now restart.

Trend Micro works fine on my laptop and I have AT&T Yahoo wireless.

Thanks Homegirl you were spot on. Although I didn't find Tavtool.exe I looked all of the files in Trend until I found one that did remove it.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
