I asked this same question yesterday but I need help finding the safety switches. I have checked everything else, I even changed the ignition module because I wasn't getting a spark. The Battery is charged the oil level is fine and there is gas in the tank. When I turn the key the engine turns but does not turn over.

Is there a safety switch under your seat usually pressure activated so if the operator is thrown off the engine cuts out automatically. What year are we dealing with here ?

Sears tractors have several safety switches and AC is streering you toward the most likely, under the seat. The next one is the one attached to the blade engagement handle. The newest Sears tractors have a bypass ignition switch that allow you to back up with the blade engaged or it can kill the engine, you pick by where you set the key. You do know a model number would be helpful, right? You can order a manual at Parts & Accessories | Shop & Find Lawn & Garden, Appliance Parts at Sears Parts Direct | SearsPartsDirect.com from Sears (http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action) but sometimes you can open it online and read about the switch locations on your exact machine.
