(I seen the other tops about black hair but mine is a little different)

I have a few questions...

I dyed my hair last summer jet black because I wanted to try something new and I liked it but now that it's growing out I want to do something different. I want to go lighter or even put some highlights into it. I did get it a little lighter when I put some brown dye over it, but it made the new growth lighter and the dark not light enough (obviously, lol, that's what happens) so it looks so tacky. I have done some research and it seems the only way to get rid of it bleaching or letting it grow out. I have long hair so it will take forever to grow out and I have a wedding to attend this summer that I want stunning hair for... what options do I have that I am missing? Is there any other way? Would the length of time the dye has been in affect how it is removed? I read somewhere about using Tide with bleach... would that be bad?

Hi, I'm a haidresser. You have to go to a professional and explain exactly what you want because now you have to have what we professionals call corrective color, double or possibly triple processing and then you NEED intensive deep conditioning treatments! But if you want a quick fix for the wedding go to a professional and have blond or caramel highlights put in with foils. I hope this helps you! GOOD LUCK! :D
