Hi,
I live in a bungalow which is approx 50 years old. The boiler is over 10 years old. The problem we are having is that whether the boiler is in use or not there is a dirty gas (like rotten eggs) smell outside where the wall vent is connected to the boiler. For fear of a leak (which my mother in law constantly tells me there is!) I have called Transco out twice! But they can find no leak. It does get stronger when the heating is actually on but you can almost always smell it outside. Do I need a new boiler? What boiler should I get if I do and how much do you think it is likely to cost me?
I would appreciate any help you could offer me, the smell wafts right past the back door and is nasty!:o
Thanks
Claire
