Hello,

I Was wondering if 2 3/4" of concrete is enough to poor over my shower vent in my basement? Due to poor placement of the main sewerline that sevices my home (right underneith my shower P trap) I have been unable to get more than 2 3/4" bellow the finished floor with my vent. The vent pipe is only this shallow for about 9" in length before rising into the wall and is located about 9" from the toilet flange toward the side wall so there will be little traffic in this spot. Will it crack? What's the best mix to use to get the best strength? Will the concrete damage the black abs? Can I use a mechanical vent for shower, toilet and lav together? 2 3/4" is from the top of the vent pipe at its highest point.
I was planning on using slip and spacing material between the pipe and concrete. Lanolium finished floor.

Thanks,
Rich

Good morning Rich,

1.) No. 2.)Regular cement mix. 3.) When we run water pipes through cement we insulate them with Armoflex and if drainage is to be run in cement er cover the pipes with roofers tar paper. 4.)Yes, if local codes allow, check with your Building Department. Good luck, Tom
