I know this is an american site, but I am having trouble finding anything here in australia about this question, yes I have done a Google search and all it comes up with is sites wanting to sell me the product.

I have just had a house built and I was doing some work in the Laundry and noticed that there was no drain hole in the floor, I was wondering if this is normal or should there be a drain hole, every other house that I have lived in has a drain hole in the floor, so in the event of the washing machine deciding to go and leak water, it goes there not into the rest of the house...

Is anyone able to help me at all??

You did not say if this was a basement floor but you did say floor. I am asuming that in Australia you don't have a basement. Here in America there are sump crocks that are hooked into sump pumps in basements to handle rain water coming into the basement or water from the basement walls. The sump pumps take the water out of the basement. In your case, if you are concerned about not having a drain in the floor and the washing machine overflows, etc. you might consult with a plumber to see what if anything could be done after the fact in getting a drain or some type of system in place in case of an overflowing washer.

Sorry, yes this is a freestanding house on a concrete slab, no basement, but I would love one for the celler full of wine, yeah I was talking to a family member this morning about it and he was saying that he has one, but it just flows out to the garden with a flap on the end of the pipe, I am thinking I might call the builder tomorrow and have a chat with him seeing as it is Sunday here atm.
