Hi,

Im a grade nine student right now, and I really need help with this math problem. It's for science class though. We're currently doing things related to density and such, and my teacher really confused me when explaining conversion.

So, I need to convert this...

D = 27.3g / 18.87 cm^3
= 1.44g/cm^3

to kg/m^3.

It'd really help if someone could explain how to do this to me. :D

All you have to worry about is the conversion from g to kg and cm to m.. Since they are all based off 10's its easy.

1 gram = 0.001 kilograms
1 centimeters = 0.01 meters

so just times the grams by .0001 and the cm by .01 and that should be your answer.. I hope this is what you were asking because the question seemed to be missing something by the equals sign

Notice only one thing here:
cm^3 = cm * cm * cm

Since 1 cm = 0.01m, then
cm^3 = cm * cm * cm = 0.01 m * 0.01 m * 0.01 m = (0.01)^3 * m^3 = 0.000001 m^3
