Hi,
I am an international student, who is on OPT right now. I was working with a company for the year 2007 on CPT and my 2007 w2 form shows that I was being charged with railroad taxes(RRT1,RRT2 and RRTM) for the whole year 2007. My company asked me to file for the refund to IRS with form IRS 843. Is this the correct form , what all documents I have to produce with the form.
Can anyone help me with this.

Thanks in advance

Suni

F1, J1 and M1 visa holders file form 843 for the refund of Social security and Medicare taxes. The same form is also used for railroad taxes.
First you must write to your employer for refund of these taxes.
