The old bath spigot is turning but not unthreading. What could it be hooked to, and how do I get it off? Nothing is leaking (so far!).

The old bath spigot is turning but not unthreading. What could it be hooked to, and how do I get it off? Nothing is leaking (so far!).
There are two types of tub spouts, (see images) slip on and threaded. Which one do you have? Regards, Tom
