I live in a somewhat rural area but not too rural. There are dirt roads but neighbors adjacent to one another on small lots. A new neighbor moved in this year with a lot of animals that are disturbing and I'm having trouble getting anything done complaining about them to where it will change the condition. I recently asked them not to put their animals so close to the property line and they moved a rooster in a coop there today the day after I asked them not to. It quickly turned into an argument with 4 people shouting at me. They are not willing to discuss any issue and called the police and said I was harassing them for the one time I asked them about their animals. They did a similar thing to another neighbor a few months ago that complained to them about the smell of their horses. The police are kind of weird here and you never know how they will act so it's worse to try to work with them. Their animals are very loud at night/morning and they leave so even if I'm able to call the sheriff they would not be around to talk to them when the problem is occurring. They had to move there horses due to a complaint to zoning which requires they keep them 50ft from neighbors property line but now they moved their rooster there. They have dogs that are very annoying too and have sheep which are not annoying but they just have most of their lot filled with animals in every spot it seems and they have a thing with putting them on my side of their property line which I think is to intentially be annoying for what reason I do not know. They seem to be using their animals to be annoying. It's GR1 in Tucson Arizona if that means anything and they live on 1 1/4 acre. They have misc. animals including horses, rooster, dogs, sheep. Their house is very small like a shack. It's the smallest house by far in the neighborhood about half as small as a small trailer house even and they have it filled with animals outside. I was wondering if there was anything I could do so I could have peace and quiet again in my home.
Sincerely, Neal

It sounds like you moved into an area that accepts animals?

Animals are animals. No one can make a rooster shut up.

If they are allowed to have animals, how do you expect them to keep them from making noise, that is what animals do, in addition to some other totally natural, but possibly unwanted behaviors.

Unless they are breaking some type of law, you have no way to stop this other than to move to an area that does not allow animals, I believe they are referred to as sub-divisions.

I seriously doubt that they are getting these animals just so they can annoy you, I could be wrong.

If the area is zoned in such a way that they can keep the animals there, no, not really. These sound like livestock, and not pets (since you mentioned the rooster), and that is part of living in a rural area. If the area is not zoned in a way that would allow them to keep livestock, you may be able to approach it from that angle.

White noise generators may help you sleep better at night. I use one, just too mask the ambient night noises.

I do run a program on my computer that is waves and it's still very loud because they put there animals next to the property line including the cooped rooster which no is not part of living next to a neighbor. So while I appriciate your response it doesn't make sense. Anyway if I get no better responses I will not be back to this site. Thanks anyway.

What an idiot you are they moved here we have lived here since the 1940s when my grandfather settled the area. Anyway this site is no good. You are wrong.. I can't believe I wasted my time at this worthless site to ask an important question that needs to be handled. There are very more friendly sites than this. So you can troll away here I won't ever post a question here. This is just trash.

I can see that these animals have really taken a toll on your perception.

You are welcome to call me an idiot, I'm not the one asking how to make animals be quiet.

If you don't like the answers you are getting, don't blame the web site, blame the idiots like me who are answering your questions.

The web site has nothing with the answers, it is just a web site, and a GREAT ONE at that.

Well at least you lived there first, I do hate the ones that the animals were there first.

But what sort of answers do you want < get a gun and shoot the rooster, sorry you can't. If the area is zoned for animals they have a legal right to have any legal animal they want.

So yes it souns like people forced them to move their animals ( they should have merely moved electric fense back and keep them)
But even if you passed new laws, their animals would be grandfathered in.

So you and the neighbors go in together and buy the property?

You are wanting some magic answer that does not exist. This is part of living in the rual area where animals are allowed.
