Last year I tried Makari and it seriously worked. After just a few days my face was noticeable lighter. I'm asian with Olive skin. I don't think everyone will have the same result as me being that my skin tends to get lighter and darker easier than others. The only thing that I noticed is that when I stopped using it my skin got darker faster. I'm not sure if there skin lightening cream makes your skin thinner which is why it may get darker easier when you stop using it. I guess if you don't mind consistently using it than this shouldn't be a problem. If you're worried about breaking out then use it every other day.

Well its over 6 months after I stopped using Makari and my complexion is back to its original tone. I was planning to order Makari again since it worked the first time around, but I was searching the net and found Meladerm. I just ordered it a few days ago. I read some of the reviews on here and there are a lot of good and bad comments regarding this product so I'm just wishing for the best. If it doesn't work after 2 weeks, I'll just return it(I think it money guarantee back within 30 days). I know it claims the result is not obvious until 4 weeks later but I know my skin well, if I don't see a difference at all within 2 weeks then the product is not for me.

Anyhow, I just want to share my experience and hope it could help someone who's trying to find a product that works. I got nauseated reading all the comments on here. Not sure what to believe. At least you know I'm not trying to sell anything cause I didn't mention one particular product. I'll be sure to update once I start the Meladerm

Let me know what your experience is with these two products. :)

Makari works for me, although using it second time around, the results are not as good as the first time, but definitely some lightening. Melederm offered no results.

Its true after a couple of shades lighter, Makari stops working. I'm not trying to get white white.. just a tat bit lighter so that my skin doesn't look so dull.

Maharani, so Meladerm didn't work for you? Good to know... I'll be sure to return it within 2 weeks if I don't see any differences. I'm currently trying L-Glutathion and vitamin c... Some say it doesn't work and some say it does, since the supplements are good for you anyway, there's no harm in trying. Maybe not lighter skin but a healthy body. Win win situation! =)

So I finally got my Meladerm and used it last night. I like the cream it is light and not harsh to the face (shipment was extremely promptly). As I had mentioned before, I've tried Makari and although it does lighten the skin, the cream clogs the pores and causes break outs. Several people mentioned Meladerm does work but takes longer and the results are not as dramatic as Makari or a few other brands. Meladerm is probably best on Asians. If you have really dark skin you shouldn't waste your money on Meladerm, however if you have olive skin tone and looking to get 1 or 2 shades lighter, I'd definitely recommend this brand. I believe most products that lightens the skin dramticly in a short time span are probably not healthy for the skin and may cause acne and rashes.

I had a few pimples on my forehead last night so I was using an acne treatment therefore did not apply the Meladerm on my forehead. Anyhow, this morning I noticed the rest of my face is "brighter" (not necessarily lighter) than my forehead. It has only been a day so I'll be sure to update everyone. BTW I am also taking L-Glutathion and Vitamic C with rose hip.

If I noticed more people are viewing this post, I'll be sure to update more often

I used both the makari caviar cream & body milk. They did make my skin breakout pretty bad. But I will say makari does make your skin lightener pretyt fast but its only temporarily. As soon as you stop using it your skin goes back to being darker. With meladerm the results were slower but I haven't gotten any pimples or rashes. It also feels like the results are more permanent since I am still going outside on hot days and my skin stays light. If you you can tolerate breakouts and need fast results makari is good choice. But like bella was saying there are some dangers with fast results and I think meladerm is a nice gentle product that gives pretty good results.

have very sensitive skin that's prone to acne but also extremely dried which results in black heads, milia (whiteheads underneath the eye), and rough skin. My second day using Meladerm and is has been a week since I started Glutathion with Vitamic C. My skin looks healthier and feels softer. As far as my skin getting lighter, no significant results yet.

I woke up with a few small pimples on my cheeks this morning, so I've decided that I'll only used Meladerm at night instead of 24/7. Like I mentioned my skin is very sensitive and does not agree well with ANY lightening crème. I must say Meladerm is much more gentle on the skin than Makari. So the only negative thing about Meladerm is it comes in this tiny bottle and I read somewhere that someone cracked open the bottle and notice it does not contain the amount of crème that it claims to have. The space is actually taken up by the plastic tube , etc. So even though you're paying 50 bucks, you're really getting at best 70% of what you think you're getting. Kind of shady if you ask me. If someone is planning to use this product continuously, I would hope they have tons of extra cash store away.

So anyhow, I ordered the Makari product again. Here's my plan since I know for sure Makari will lighten my skin within a week, I'll use it until my skin gets lighter than switch over to a more gentle product like Meladerm to maintain the color and supposely Glutathion and Vitamin C will help prevent my skin from getting much darker ( don't really expect these supplements to make my skin lighter but I'm hoping it at least will help prevent it from getting darker). I do want to enjoy the outdoors =)

Anyhow, I just ready about Funky Mommy's Gluta C Crème. Simply Jane is raving about it and it sounds good but I'm a skeptic being that if it is that wonderful (supposely works on stretch marks too) how come you don't have more members mentioning about the product. Makari and Meladerm are well known because many members have used the products. If you're reading this post and have tried Gluta-C, please let me know the result.

I might just get Gluta-C a try since its not that expensive. This will probably be the last lighten product I'll try.

I ordered the Meladerm last week and already my face and neck are a shade lighter. Granted I'm Gabriel Union's color... but am from the Yukon area in North America... so my skin reacts very quickly to skin lightning (not so tough skin)! I'm currently stationed in Lousiana (deep South) but have gone outside with sunbloxk (SPF 50) and have not gotten darker at all. Meladerm is definitely gentle on the skin... and I actually feel good about using it. I just wished they made body lotion as well :~) Anyhoo to subsitute I've purchased Makari's body beautifying milk... hopefully this will lighten my body to match my skin tone on my face.

I have the same complexion as Jessica Alba. I agree Meladerm is so much more gentle on the skin than any other products I've tried. Makari although lightens much faster, my skin felt raw and sensitive like it was getting thinner. With Meladerm, my skin feels softer and healthier. Although Makari worked faster and more effectively, my skin got darker when I was exposed to the sun, but with Meladerm it doesn't. Well I also have to put into consideration that I've been using Glutathione and Vitamin C ( makes my skin very healthy looking). Might be a combination of both. But like I mentioned above, I also ordered Makari last week, so I'll be trying that again for a few days n see how that compares to Meladerm.

So its been a week and my skin looks a tat bit lighter. I don't recommend Meladerm for extremely dark skin cause I don't think it would make much of a difference being that the product is very gentle and a little on the pricey side. Think you would have to spend a grand just to see any differences. I read many reveiws before I ordered Meladerm and a few users mentioned it didn't work at all, my guess is they have very dark complexion.

With contunie to update...

So its been forever, and I still haven't received Makari. I got to tell you, I received the Meladerm crème within 3 days of my order. Not to mention Makari shipping cost (plus their cavair is more expensive) isn't cheap either. Urghh don't you hate bad customer service?

Want to compare the two creames but since I haven't received it yet.. I will give an update next week. By the way I ordered bio clare and gluta-C as well. Haven't received those as well.

By the way Meladerm makes the skin very soft and smooth.. as far as lighten? Just a tat bit... my skin looks brigher not lighter. Like I mentioned before if you have dark dark skin and your sole purpose is to get many shades light, don't waste your money will MELADERM... won't do much for you.

Here are the four products I'll be rating.. (I'm asian)
1. Meladerm
2. Makari
2. Gluta C
4. Bio Clare (although I'm only planning to use it for my body. My face is way too sensitive for cheap products)

I mentioned this on another post, I received the Gluta C (Funkymommy) yesterday and applied it last night. Meladerm is a good product but only lighten me by one shade if even.

Anyhow, Gluta-C came in a very unprofessional, unsealed bottle. The instruction was printed on regular copy machine with regular copy paper. I've used many many products in my lifetime and has never seen something so unprofessional before. Normally when the package is at least decent, you kind of associate that with a reputable brand where you know they did extensive test and had money to pay for a good scientist to develop this product right? Well if you look at funkmommy's website, it is extremely ammateuristic. Hell they might just used a very inexpensive lotion and say that is gluta-c for all I know.

Anyhow, I am praying that this product will not destroy my face. I will try it and as pessimistic as I am about it, I'm willing to give if a couple weeks try. LIke I mentioned in my previous post my skin is light olive and easily lighten or tanned, so if it works for me it should work for you.

Please do not purchase Gluta-C before I finish my results in two weeks. I don't want to promote a scammer website. The bottle was $30 plus shipping almost costed me 40 bucks. It's not expensive but its not that cheap either.

I see that a lot of people read these reviews but do not post or post their results. I want to help make it easier for people to find an effective lighten product and at the same time not waste their money on noneffective products. Honestly I wish someone had done the same for me. I think I would've saved a lot of money =D

Makari took forever to get to me as well! LOL! You did the same thing as me... ordered the meladerm then Markari. Anyhoo... I've already noticed significant results with the meladerm on my face... but now its brighter than the rest of my body. I finally got my Makari a week ago... and have seen no real results with the body lightening milk on my arms. Granted my arms are the darkest and hardest to lighten... I've also gotten a bit darker in some areas (and this is with exfoliating and wearing SPF 50.. ). I'm not sure if I want to ditch the makari for something else. I'm thinking of going back to using Papaya soap... that stuff really does make the old skin peel... really quickly! I've also been considering using fair & flawless skin products. Has anyone had success with them? I just don't know if I want to spend another $50+ on makari's lotion... and wait two weeks for it to arrive... *sigh*

Yea I finally got mine yesterday. Makari must've used a very cheap shipping service. Funny thing is their shipping cost isn't really all that cheap. I made 3 ordered for 3 different products days after I ordered Makari, yet Makari was the last too arrived.

Meladerm did lightening my face. I also tried Gluta C for a couple days and stopped because I wasn't sure if it was the Gluta C that was working or the Meladerm.

I believe our skin has a limit as to how many different shades we can become lighter ( excluding what Michael Jackson used hahaha) so people say a product stops working, I think it is more like our skin is as its limit. These products can only do so much. It takes months for us to get a few shades lighter, but it takes us 30 minutes in the sun to get dark again. Don't you hate that?

My arm is the darkest too. I been using bio clair on them. Almost a week and I don't see any difference. Let me know if the papaya soap works.

I will start using Gluta C again next week, and I'll let you know how it works.

Its been a month and I have to say Meladerm at first brighten my face a bit but hardly enough to make a difference. Especially for something so pricey. I will have to conclude Meladerm is ineffective and you should not waste your money on this product. Sure maybe I will see results 5 months later after going through 3 more bottles but you know what? I'm not going to waste my money. Funny but the other day someone asked me why my face looks darker

Next trying the Gluta C..

Really... I thought differently. The meladerm worked for me... I lightened a couple of shades... and I'm rather impressed. But I'm on my second bottle right now. LOL. I'd have to say that I wasn't too pleased with the Makari results... not only was the shipping slow... but the bod milk only lasted a week and I was out. I'm not about to pay $50+ for another bottle to last me a week. I've decided to go back to my Diane Stalder products... which rather quickly. I've also been using some Papya soap (which I've ordered from an Asian website. The soap helps the skin to "exfoliate" and the lightening products to penterate deep within the skin. I think I'll keep on buying the Meladerm... but phase it off once I get to my desired skin tone. I've given up on Makari!

I'm an asian and used meladerm for a month for pigmentation... unfortunately it didn't worked for me... merely a waste of money since u need at least a month to observe the results :( so better forget about it...
