I'm sure this question has been asked several times
I'm considering buying a 40G but are there more features on 60g or 80g?
And what would I need 60G or 80g for?
Is ps3 blueray really good to watch blueray dvds?
How about buying a refurbished console?
What are some good games for ps3?
Where can I go ta get a cheap, good deal?

Below are the differences between the different gigabyte packages.

40gb-No backward compatibility, 2 usb ports, no card readers
60gb-Great backward compatibility, 4 usb ports, 4 card readers
80gb-Backward compatibility but not as good as 60 gb, 4 usb ports, and card readers

You should get the 60gb because it's a pretty good price and is going to be bundled with 2 games soon. Backward compatibility is when the ps3 can play older ps2 games, I'm not sure if they can play the original ps1 games. If you plan on downloading a lot of things to your ps3, then get the 80gb. The blueray is good, but it's not the one you want for a home theater. I don't know about refurbished ps3's as I bought mine brand new. I can't recommend games to you because I don't know your taste, but if you tell me what types of games you like I'd be happy to tell you some good games. There is no place to get a cheap ps3, there all as expensive as they get.

Also the ps3's HDD can be easily replaced with any laptop hard drive. Although there may be a limit on size, like 350gb or something.

An easier solution is to use an external usb hard drive. You have to format it a certain way but it's a very cheap solution to get a lot of extra storage on your PS3

They aren't making the 60gb version anymore which is a great shame, I do know however that EVERY version of the ps3 can play ps1 games, it's the ps2 games that the 40gb version can't play.
