We have a Frigidaire dishwasher that is just over a year old. It is not making a loud humming/vibrating noise when it drains. It seems to be working fine, the dishes are coming out clean, it's just that loud humming noise. I want to find out what is wrong, my husband says that as long as it works, leave it alone. Could this lead to other problems? Or make matters worse if we ignore this? (this has become such a huge issue with us, we argue about it all the time)

Dishwashers make all kinds of funny noises when they are draining. I go with hubby's suggestion of leaving it alone until it stops working. Mine sounds like an airplane wanting to take off sometimes when draining.

The dishwasher we bought is claims " it does not sound like most dishwashers . . .it's quieter". It was extremely quiet when we first had it, you couldn't even hear it in the next room or in the family room which overlooks the kitchen, that's why I am concerned.. . It is so very noisy during the drain cycle...

I have the same problem with a frigidaire dishwasher. Mine is 18 months old and just recently it got much louder. I couldn't stand it any longer and called a repair person. He thinks it's the drain pump and is not certain that installing a new one will take care of the noise but that is what I am having him do... also will have him add insulation. I have never had a dishwasher that is that loud... We live in a townhouse and I am embarressed at what out neighbors must think when we run the dishwasher at night. My usband could care less, but I am like you and wanted it corrected if possible.
