Hi,
I am trying to figure out what is wrong with my Amana furnace. It does not turn on, I have checked (and changed) the switch on the furnace, and reset the circuit breaker on the main panel. I am wondering if the thermostat could be the problem or is it bigger than that? I ran the fan once or twice during the summer months but not very often.
Any ideas? I am a single mom and can't really afford to have someone come in and fix a $50 part when I am very good at repairing most things myself.
Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!! Thanks

It seems you are not good at repairing a furnace as most people are not also. You really should call a professional. I understand the lack of funds for a repair but by playing around trying to fix it you might put you family in a hazzard type situation. A furnace is nothing to play with. Be safe and call for service.

I have helped many people fix problems like that. Since Northern Heat joined and now has a great sticky at the top of the forum, I mostly refer people to it. It includes a simple check of is the thermostat the problem. Read through the sticky and if you still need help, post back. We have good people here that can and want to help.
