I had a really bad experience with a certain brand of skin bleach ( called Jolen/Fem).

I live in india and it is simply a craze to get fair skin.. All and sundry rush to the beauty parlours here to try just about anything to get fair. And like all, I am one of them!Majority of Indian men prefer fair skin on their women . I have brown skin and hope to get fairer some day!

Anyway, here's the thing, there is a certain Oxy bleach out here, which is extremely mild and doesn't pigment skin from frequent usage. Very affordable in the parlors here at Rs.150 per usage. I am sure they sell packs as well.It bleavhes facial hair ( that's the only way you'll know if it is bleaching skin, the hair turns gold and blends in with the color of your skin) and you will notice a visible difference after its off your face. Jolen and Fem pigmented the sides of my face.

India's got some good skin products out there (not talking about fair & lovely LOL). You must have heard of shahnaz husain? I've never tried her bleaching kit but I use her under eye crème called shasmooth. It's brilliant. As you're in india it will be easier to get hold of her products there.

I'm indian too. So when I was there to visit family, I went into a beauty salon and they used fem bleach on me. It seemed OK to me. We've all got different skin so it may have not responded well to you. I've not heard of Oxy though.
