My boyfriend always text me saying that he loves me and asks if I love him, I do love him and I always text that back. Sometimes I wonder if it's the right thing, I mean 2 and 1/2 weeks is a little short to be saying that stuff. But it is different in the halls, we never say that kind of stuff. We just like walk and talk about our day so far, I can't tell if he really means it, or if he's just saying it to make me happy.

Like you said two and a half weeks is too short to be positive, but as long as he is the type to tell you that don't discourage it. Many girls years later are crying 'he won't say I love you'
Just don't get your hopes up too high either.

Him - out of the blue: "I love you."

You: "That's very sweet."

Him: "Don't you love me?"

You: "Oh, now you're spoiling it for me. Please don't say that just to hear me say it back."

Him: "Oh, sorry, yeah, well, do you?"

You: "I didn't ask you to say that to me, I appreciate you respecting me the same way."

Repeat... ad nauseum... every time he pulls that manipulative stuff. He's young, you're young. Neither one of you is very experienced in what love is or even means. He thinks saying it is meaningful, when in truth it's just a way of trying to control you. Don't fall for it. And don't get mad at him for it, just point it out and tweak his cheek.
