My friend was arrested yesterday, warrant from austin Texas for faluire to appear. He was on probation for class be misdemeanor poseesion of marijuana, failed a ua then another and then didn't go back and when told to go to court didn't go. He got pulled over yesterday and was arrested for said warrant. When searched they found marijuana again same class be misdemeanor. How long could he stay in jail if he chooses to do so? Should I bail him out, and wait to see what they say on the court date? Is it a more serious crime because of the probation violations and faliure to appear, or still a misdemanor? Being 250 miles away from austin will they come get him still?

There is a warrant from austin TX, so if they are going to take him back, you can not bail him out until he goes there and faces the charges not appearing and probation violation,
You can almost for sure expect him to have jail time down there for this violation.
? On the coming to get him, before they found the drugs on him, were they going to take him into custody on the warrant, if so, yes they are going to get him, They inform the police within 30 min if they are going to get him or not, so if he has a bail for him now, no they are not coming, if there is no bail, they are coming.
And with the new judge, if he has failure to appear and several probation violations, don't count on them giving him probation, so expect jail time for the new charge if found guilty
