I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 washer that will begin a cycle, but stalls before finishing and won't drain. When it stalls it goes completely silent.

So currently it's sitting silently half full of water.

I'm a fairly handy guy around the house, but know nothing when it comes to washers... What should I try first?

I have whirlpool washing machine and the same starts the washing cicle but when it gets to spin doesn't move, I can hear the water being drained but it doesn't spin although it makes the spinning noise, so all the clothes come out all soaked. Does anyone have a solution for this problem cause I've tried calling the whirlpool services and they weren't much of a help.
