I live in rural farmland Maryland, Carroll County. My property is in the shape of a triangle. My neighbor's property borders on two sides of that triangle. Through the years my neighbor has removed the rose bush I had at the point of the triangle. Next he removed the 4x4 post marking the corner. He has equipment to grade his driveway and he keeps rounding the corner narrow, so that now his driveway rounds the turn and is on my property. There is vast space that he could have rounded the corner wide to stay on his land, but he chose to encroach on my property. He scowls meanly at me when I smile and wave. I have given up on trying to communicate with him. (Other neighbors say he is the dull knife in the drawer, implying he is intellectually challenged.)
Are there any laws that his driveway has to be some distance from the property line?
What action can I take to keep him from further encroaching on my land?
