Hello I'm Bonita,

I just wanted to ask a question. I lived at my current location for a year now but within that year my landlord comes whenever he feels like it and park and fix cars in my driveway. All types people walk park in driveway or walk up the driveway. I don't know nothing about all these people and I have kids they can be child molesters or whatever. I never get an heads up on it or anything! At this point I do not want to sign a year lease again, only month to month or a 6 months lease. I feel that he doesn't respect me as his tenant and he feels that he can do whatever because he owns the property. What can I do or should I do about this because I'm about at my witz end!! ;-0

Sincerely,
Nita

Is this covered in your lease? Otherwise you rent the property, the entire property - I would certainly complain but be prepared for him not to renew your lease.

I wouldn't want people buzzing around the driveway in general when your children are outside.

I would not renew the lease and I would move.

No he can not do this unless it is allowed in the lease, he has to even give you a notice to come and inspect the property. The drive way is yours after you rent it, if he wishes to use it, you most certainly have a right to deman a lower rent for his use, or merely tell him he can not do this.
** of course he can refuse to renew the lease also.
