I know bhyrum - hope I spelled that right and Ramadan.
I don't really know what they're celebrating but when I lived in Turkey during one of the two holidays they beat a drum off someone's house at seven in the morning for a week. And during Ramadan they fast.
Not much help but, Curly Ben's site has a few though.

alazo,
You might like to refer this link
USC-MSA Compendium of Muslim Texts (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/history/)
This link will take you to the following-
*A brief chronology of Islam
*Some biographies of the Companions of the Prophet (pbuh),
*The Rightly-Guided Caliphs
The link also includes all the basic beliefs of Islam.

Gernald,
I am not familiar with the word"bhyrum" you mentioned,
So I checked the net for details and found that "bayram" is the word used in Turkish language for all nationally celebrated festivals.
Bayram (Turkey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayram_(Turkey))
