The inside of my dryer becomes very red. Is this the heating element or is it a fire hazzard?

Where is it that you are seeing the red, please? Do you have a panel off that allows you to see the flame? My bottom panel is off my gas dryer. I can see the flame and it does glows kind of a red-orange inside there.
