Have a Harbor breeze fan/light fixture. The switch has multiple functions, the light will go on with no problem for a few weeks, then have to play with switch to get light to come. Once on
Problem disappears for a few weeks, then process starts all over. Previous owner states, switch was changed once before. Any suggestions!!

I'm not an expert but I'm alone & a woman . Check the light bulb first -just put a new in & screw it in snug. Problem could if you're lucky be at the swith. Check the Wiring of course after you have cut the power to that breakder off. Other thing could be the fan light wiring has loosened. If you are not good at these things --Call an Electrician

Loose connections will destroy a switch. It depends on the lifetime your getting out of the switch whether it's a switch issue or something causing the switch to fail.

From what you described, a loose connection somewhere seems likely.

What type of fan/switch is it? How many wires does it use?
