I have a Moenrtrol, 1986 style, single control tub/shower faucet that is dripping when off. I am not sure whether it’s the hot of cold. I did take it partly apart to see if it was an easy repair. I could not find where and how to replace any packin.. Is there any to be replaced, and how does one get to them?

Thanks for any help

Here is some great news for you, that Moen has a lifetime warranty, call them Warranty Information for Moen Faucets (http://www.moen.com/consumersupport/warranty.cfm?location=TopNavCustomerSupport) to arrange for a replacemment cartridge free of charge. If you want to slow or stop that drip in the meantime try wiping down the outside of the cartridge and inside of the valev body and then grease both with plumbers faucet grease, should hold until the part arrives.

I recently helped with the repair of a Moen kitchen faucet; Moen sent the replacement parts 'free'. We located a toll free number and spoke with knowledgeable associates who were a great help.
