I am installing a new manufactured home (mobile home) and the building inspector states I have to install a quick disconnect. Not sure exacly what he is asking for. What equipment do I use?

A quick disconnect will usually be a circuit breaker, rated the size of the electrical service the home needs, maybe usually either 100 or 200 amp amp.

This will be called the Main Service Disconnecting Means, and will be located outdoors, usually at the utility meter. You can get some specific detail from your local electrical utility company for the type of equipment they allow, that can have both the meter and disconnect combined in one piece of equipment.

A circuit breaker would not really classify as a "quick disconnect". I have a feeing the inspector is wanting a cord and plug type setup as is common with travel trailers.

Is this thing and actual mobile home? Like the kind you set on a slab and take the wheels off and put a skirt around?
Or is it an elaborate travel trailer?

If it is the former then your inspector is nuts. Mobile homes DO NOT require "quick" disconnects, travel trailers do.

Mobile homes have some very specific codes as to location of the service disconnect and noting being mounted TO the house itself. I would clarify what it is exactly he wants.
