I was struck by the beauty of the songs Gently As She Goes and A Hero Comes Home in the movie Beowulf, sung by Hrothgar's queen. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's beautiful, acoustic and sort of reminds me of chamber music? If that's the right term.

Anyway, I'm trying to find more songs like it. This type of music really captivates me, so if someone could give me a good place to start like what genre this is considered? Or perhaps an artist or two or maybe even a few songs? I'd be very grateful!

This link is to Gently As She Goes, in case you haven't heard it before:

I think you'd like Celtic and Irish music...

Focus on Celtic ballads, Gently As She Goes sounds very Celtic to me...

Celtic Woman (Carrickfergus is one of my favorites)
The Irish Experience

Try Celtic and Irish music... its similar... you'll have to search for celtic ballads to find the type of music inside the genre of Celtic Music... but when you find them, they'll be worth it! :)

ArielR agrees: Thank you very much! Your suggestions were great, I'm loving the ballads I'm finding!

You're welcome! Glad I could help! I adore music...

Try the soundtrack of Narnia too... Wunderkind is really great... :)

If you like Irish and Celtic, I ran across a song from a guy/band/whatever called Amir Beso, and the song was called Gypsyland, I believe. If you can find it.. that song sounds pretty awesome.
