We had an outlet that blew while having a space heater plugged in and the electricity in one of our upstairs bedrooms and that outlet does not have any electricity. What could the problem be?

Blown circuit breaker most likely.

Definitely start with checking the breaker panel a breaker can be tripped and not look like it. Check to see if turning the breaker off and then back on helps. That being said take a look at your breakers and see what you find. Another question, when you say the outlet blew did it just stop working or what? Post back and we will try to help. GOOD LUCK, AC

What happened was that the outlet burned and the breakers were checked. I changed out the outlet and still nothing. The thing I don't understand is why is it only that particular outlet and only the electricity in one bedroom up stairs.

Do you have power through the hot lead at the outlet you replaced? Can you check with a meter or similar device to verify power or absence thereof. What type /color wires did you have in the outlet box? Is the affected outlet in the upstairs bedroom? Post back and lets see what we can figure out. AC

The outlet is in our Atrium. We have a hot tub in that room. I need to check and see if the electricity works for that. I have not checked to see if we have electricity to that outlet with a meter. I will be doing that today. I will be in close contact.

We now have electricity. I am not sure as to why, but we have it. The only thing is that the lights upstairs flicker sometimes. Does that mean there is a short somewhere? I check the reset button on the hot tub and pushed it. Not sure if that had something to do with it or not. Also the outlet in the atrium has electricity as well.

The reset you pushed was that on a gfi outlet or something else . If this was the case did it appear to function normally? Without being able to see what you have my next suggestion would be to double check your connections at your outlets that were replaced/repaired to verify correct and tight . What size breaker do you have on these outlets and exactly what is run off this breaker? Im guessing that the atrium , upstairs bedroom and hot tub are all run on the same circuit is that correct? Let me know. AC
