Hi I'm 22 and in major debt
I have credit card debts and overdrafts in my old bank accounts
Most or all were submitted to the credit bureau and I'm constantly harassed with emails and phone calls
I know I'm at at fault and no one else but the problem is my mom, my sister, and I all have debts. They're both in debt because of bills with mortgage, utilities, etc and the list goes on and only my sister is employed because my mom got laid off last year
I haven't paid anything for I'd say 2 years now because I help them out
I don't own anything other than a cellphone and I make less than $1800/month
I was told that the government allows a single person to claim bankruptcy if he/she makes $1800 or less a month
So I started to consider it.
But I heard about the statute of limitations recently.
How does that work? I don't know much about it.
How does one qualify for that?
What actions need to be done for that or is it simply not making payments for 2 or 3 years or however long it is for ontario and then the debts are cleared?
Please help me!
What can I do?
I'm financially and emotionally stressed.

Do not stress over this, OK? Are you in Canada? Go to your local Yellow Pages and find a bankruptcy attorney. Here is a Q & A from an attorney: Personal Bankruptcy tips and tricks moderated by Atlanta lawyer Jonathan Ginsberg (http://www.thebklawyer.com/thebkblog/)

That not that hard if you broke you don't need to ask that question

First the SOL does not mean you don't still owe the money and they can still call and try to collect. But the SOL just means they can't take you to court to get a judgement.

I would look into the bankrutpcy
