What should I do I mean if I give up my rights am I still obligated to pay any further?

I don't believe you would be "legally" obligated to pay if you gave up your rights. Now how about "morally" obligated. You had just as much of a role in making this baby as she did. Take care of your responsibilities and support your child!

I have been in this situation for a long time now. My x is a very vendictive woman. I have to fight her to just drop my kids off to me or to get them for a holiday. And she has asked me to give up my rights. If you choose that option then no you are not obligatd bt you will have to pay the rears still. But I agree morally that is not right be a man and step up yeah it sucks and it seems like no matter how hard you work you are not getting anywhere but in the long run your kids will see how much you love them. And that is all that counts is making sure that no matter what they know you will always be there for them.

Sorry, first the attorney general has nothing to do with this, it will be the judge in family court where your custody agreement is at.

Next if you give up your rights in most states you will still have to pay child support. Child visitation and custody rights have nothing to do with child support obligation, the state can even come after you thierself if the parent is on welfare or assistance.

And you don't want to see your child,? Well that is your choice, but she is lying and playing you to get 10 grand out of you and then laugh when you still have to pay support

Yeah, he's right... unless her new spouse is going to adopt the child, you will be financially responsible until that child is 18, maybe longer if he/she goes to college. You can't pay her off to get out of paying child support, the courts don't care what kind of agreement you made on the side. Sorry!
