The Content Management System uses a database for companies' records, and shows it all when needed, from pay to employee records, profits, etc.

A content management system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_management_system) is a web application that you can use to manage to content on a web site. They tend to provide a simple interface for you to enter your information and it will then create the web pages for you.
Some CMS examples (PHP based):

As for getting on running - there will be a installation help page/documentation with whatever CMS you download.
