I've had my 95 civic for about a year now. This winter it was over heating and I put a new thermostat in it and for awhile it stopped. Today I was driving to the movies when I noticed me engine running hot (3/4 the way to H) and my check engine light came on. The next street I turned down, put my car into neutral and decided to pull over. Before I could turn and park smoke came rolling out from under my hood.
Upon open my hood and letting my car cool down I noticed a small hole around the neck of my radiator by the cap(where all the steam came from). I opened it up and notice a think blueish residue linning my radiator. Any idea what could have gone wrong?
And the hose going from the radiator to the engine is cold no matter how hot my engine gets? Is this not allowing my thermostat to open up? A possible air bubble in my hoses?
Also my car seems to "breath" when in neutral?

Also when I start up my car after letting it sit it shakes violently, when proceeding to take off car has no acceleration and white smoke comes from the exaust. It only does this when it sits and then I take off, after warming up the probem goes away
