I have been dying my hair for over a year now to a dark brown. My hair is naturally a light brown and I would like to get my absolute natural color back, is this possible and with what?

Well I don't dye my hair so I don't know but how soon do you need it because you could just wait, over time with bathing and day to day life it comes out natturally I think. That's why people who want it dyed have to repeat it after blank amount of time. I think if you stop repeating it it will eventully fade away. Not sure if this is really helpful or not but my mom was in the same situation so she found a picture of herself with natural hair color and showed it to the salon person and they've tried five different colors and they can't get it right and there just making it worse at this point so my mom's given up.

The first thing that needs to be done is that your hair stylist needs to examine your roots to determine what your natural level is. Then they need to determine what the level of the artificial hair color is. EX: there is a scale 1-10 being the darkest and 10 being the lightest.. you went from a lets say level 4 to a level 1, and now you need to go from a level 1 to a level four. You need to see a professional here is why

If you have color on your hair and you want to go to a lighter color, you can't use hair color to lighten it because artificial hair color will not lift artificial hair color that is already on your hair.

So lets say naturally you are a level 4 and the hair color you have been using is naturally a level 1 then you are going to run into some problems. This means that you are going to have to go through and strip the artificial hair color off your hair and then deposit a color to match your natural level. I don't like to have to strip hair color from clients' hair because it is very damaging (most of the time) and I have seen it cause major breakage.

However I would highly recommend you going to a salon because the reality is I can't really see what color your hair is and can't recommend the best product either, without visual, as there is a color chart that needs to be followed. Please go to your salon for corrective treatment.

BTW, there are products such as loreal color remover, etc.. However, I have had some clients who didn't get the results they expected because sometimes the above products can take several applications.. I would suggest you go to a professional...
