Hey Mag.. I like Koolaid too, especially the grape and tropical punch. I thinks it is better than coke (the drink). Cola can eat away more than just a penny, but so can koolaid. As a matter of fact, I used to use it to clean the grill in the bowling alley I managed. That stuff works wonders when sprinkled on dry and let to soak up the fat - the grills always looked likke new. I never told anyone what I used - it was my secret.

I also still like the original orange Tang - yummy!

Hi Girlfriend... have you tried soaking those footsies in Baking Soda? It is great for heartburn (1 tsp in a cup of hot water) and a little more for soaking feet - it really softens them and you can rub away that callous. It also leaves the feet odorless for a while. You can also sprinkle it dry into the shoes. Try it.

I'm out of state visiting my daughter and her dog (my grand dog as she calls him) He has become quite attached to me. My cats will be so jealous when I go back home.
We lost our dog in January. He was 12 years old. We're debating about getting another one, but the longer we go without one the greater the chance we won't get another. The two cats keep us occupied and while they are basically my cats, my husband has gotten more attached sine we lost our dog. So the cats may be it.

Only except, I had the HVAC people here to do an annual check on my furnaces, hot water tank and the outside air conditioners and guess what. He found things... yeah he is still working but I heard him on the phone with his office and he is already at over $500.00.

Some pvc pipes are leaking on the hot water tank, the humidifier is leaking unto the air cleaner on the furnace, and this list is getting bigger.

Not happy at the moment...

Doughnuts dipped in hot tea. Corn bread in a cup with butter milk poured on top and fresh ground pepper to top it off. Fresh spinach leaves wilted in bacon grease, the bacon crunched up and sprinkled in with blue cheese crumbles and just a hint of basalmic vinegar... not the stuff Start used to soak her feet in though!
Hummus made fresh and crunchy garlic bagel chips to dip it up with and an ice cold Perrier water with lots of lime squeezed in.
Egg plant baked, peeled, squished up with lemon juioce, olive oil and garlic and pasted on Rosemary bread covered with swiss cheese and toasted to perfection.

That's what I would have if I were you.

Mag, I don't have any of that stuff here. I settled for frosted flakes with milk. Sigh, your suggestions sounds better.

Thanks for asking Starty. Lefty is still giving me trouble. For some reason everything got really blurry last night, but only in my left eye. It's still a bit blurry, and the tear duct is still clogged. I talked to my doctor yesterday, he's talking surgery. I swear, I've had enough eye surgery to last me a life time. I'll be okay though, I'm a toughy, I think. ;)

OK... I have been trying to keep a low profile.

I guess everyone is a little different, I went to about 15 cigarettes a day. But I am now back to about 20 or one pack a day. It is not easy at all. I still believe I can do this, but it may take longer than I thought. I have heard of people that have stayed on Chantix for 3 to 4 months. I am down from 2 or more packs a day... :(

If you are taking your time and are comfortable with that, then Stringer for goodness sakes you are surving this! Good job! Lowering the intake is the main concern, quitting comes next. I know you will, and like you said, take your time!:):)

Actually the weather forecast is calling for snow today, so I'm staying inside and doing laundry. 30 loads to go and I'll finally be caught up, until tomorrow. ;)

Laundry is never ending, you miss a few days and it takes forever to catch back up. It's my least favorite part of house work.

I hate laundry too. It just seems so pointless. Wash the clothes, fold the clothes, put the clothes away, pick the clothes off the floor and repeat all the steps. It's never ending.

Yup, I'm getting tired of the snow, but we actually have it pretty good right now. Usually there would still be winter snow on the ground at this time of year, but we've actually had allot of nice days. If it does snow it won't stay long. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. ;)

I love laundry, those catch up days give you a sense of ACCOMPLISHMENT when you finish, you get beautiful wonderful FRESH smeling towels, oh the SWEET sheets, and the NO STAIN knees on Jetts jeans, the little ugly grease spots on the t-shirts... Childhood was fun. I was one of the truly lucky ones when it came to parents. I was an only child and they were the best parents in the world (in my opinion) I will never stop missing them.

The one thing I remember that has so stuck with me. The day of my mothers funeral (she died 6 1/2 months after my dad) a friend of mine told me how lucky I was, she said that she didn't think she'd really care when her parents died. I honestly thought that everyone's mom and dad were as great as mine, my naïveté. So the way I look at it is I had my mom and dad for 30 wonderful years, which is better than 60 so-so years.

I plan on not using plastic bags for my groceries more often and planting a garden and some "stay forever" trees and such! We recycle anything we can so I am going to just keep doing that. Aww R, I am so sorry for you, I know about migraines sweet. You had them for three days, wow, glad you are feeling better now... This may sound strange R, but I heard of another remedy that may give you some relief; You know those muscle rubs? Well try rubbing one of those on your neck and forehead or where ever, it is supposed to give some relief, hope it works for you?:(

We are going to a friend's daughter's first communion today and a small party afterward at 1 pm. Should be fun, they are nice people and we haven't spent any time with them in a while, AND food!

Yes please try it, I have some arthritis in my hand and I use the same on my neck and shoulder muscles and in about 10-15 minutes it helps a lot. The massage therapist said that she has heard of a lot of people that use it this way for relief... so, maybe it is worth a try for you?
