In the past I had a back-up system that was installed as a Z drive on my computer. I have unattached the actual unit but when I try to install anything I get an error message Envalid Z drive

Hi jrountree

It sounds like your hard drive is corrupt, this can be caused by removing the hard disk from the computer while it is transferring information or by not removing the device 'safley' from windows.

There are 3 things that you could do, you could:

Take it to a professional repair technician

Format the hard drive (would recommend this as an extreme last resort as formatting the drive will erase all data on it)

Return it to the manufacturer if it is still under warranty

Hope this is of some help

I appears that the programs are attempting to install to your disconnected Z drive.
Simply change the installation path to C drive and try again.

I completely disagree with "IT Whiz"'s answer as what they advise is simply not true.
