I am an Indian student on an F-1 visa with full time CPT. My school is in New York, I work in Pittsburgh, PA as a consultant and my employer is in New Jersey. I have been in the US for less than 5 years
I have lived and worked in Pittsburgh since September 2007.
I am a little confused regarding my state and local taxes
My employer has withheld my NJ taxes. Do I need to file PA state taxes as a non-resident even though my source of income is really NJ? (since I am a consultant)
Do I also need to file Pittsburgh city tax as a non-resident?
Also, how do I claim my NJ taxes back, I understand I get a full refund. My employer has also withheld the NJ UI/HC/WF and NJ DI. What additional schedules do I have to file in addition to the NJ 1040NR to get a full refund?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.
