We have been in this house for 2 years. For the first 18 months we only used the downstairs rooms because I was removating upstairs. After I completed the upstairs renovations, including having a plumber replace the shower faucet for a new single-handle type, we noticed that we run out of water faster than when using the downstairs bathroom. It is a very noticeable difference. Downstairs I could shower for 20 minutes, no problem. Upstairs, we may get up to 10 minutes at most. Any thoughts?

Yep, too much cold water or not enough hot. Sometimes there are screw valves which can throttle back or increase the water from the hot or cold sides.

Another possibility is the valve isn't temperature regulating. The temperature regulating valve will give you longer showers.

Hi All:

Mcusacov: Just wondering if you have tried the downstairs shower since you noticed the problem with the new upstairs shower. I am wondering if have issue that goes beyond the upstairs shower.

What kind of water heating system do you have..

What kind of shower heads do you have... is downstairs shower head, for example, a water saver head.. and upstairs shower head is a shower massage unit that has had water saver removed to increase volume (I do this for most of my customers without even telling them as I have never met anyone that wants a low volume shower).

Just thinking aloud for you here... let us know what you think... Mark
