I am installing an outdoor wood stove and am not sure how to install the Brazed Flat Plate heat exchanger and mixing valve to Hot water heater. The brazed plate has 1 hot in , 1 cold in and 1 hot out and 1 cold out.

I looked into this a bit for you touchlinc:

Obviously, hot water feeds into exchanger to exchange heat to cold water coming into heater.. so there is a feed and return for heat exchange water and a cold water inlet and hot water outlet for domestic water.

The cold water gets piped into cold inlet of exchanger as well as the cold inlet of the mixing valve. The hot water coming from hot water outlet gets piped into hot side of mixing valve. The MIXED water from the mixing valve then goes where you send it..?

From there I would only be guessing... maybe with lots more information I could help you here. But I got to tell you... better to call the manufacturer with this question. They can design this system better... for example, did you know that the cold water inlet to this exchanger should have a removable screen installed.. Did you know this exchanger may need to be serviced/cleaned periodically and for that reason UNIONS are recommended at all connections..?
