Help! I am wondering if I could possibly be pregnant.Last period was 36 days ago.Was supposed to start 25 days ago, based on what is normal for me.I am 10-11 days late.Today I thought period started, but bleeding is very light, faint and is pinkish-brown.I am feeling like I normally feel when I have a normal cycle, some slight abdominal discomfort.I am scared to take a pregnant. Test because I have had a miscarriage in the past and thinking it could be pre-menopause(I am 36 yo,soon to be 37)Could I be pregnant and is waiting to see is I get a period next month too long to wait before testing ot going to my ob/gyn.Thanks for your advice!

Take into consideration that a woman who is pregnant can have one more period in the beginning and is usually exactly how you explained; light and pinkish brown. Girl you know you have to be strong and just take that test so you can be certain. Because if you are pregnant you can't avoid it. You feel me?

Your menstrual cycle can differ from month to month, year to year for lots of different reasons. The main reasons are age, stress level, medications or hormonal changes, etc.
36 is a little young to be menopausal but you're right - premenopause can last for a very long time.

If pregnancy is your first thought I would wait a little over a week after this pseudo-period is over and take a home pregnancy test. If that is negative, I would suggest waiting to see how your next period is. If you skip it completely, retest a week after that missed period. If it's light again, it may just be your cycle lightening up as you get older.

If in doubt - never hesitate to call the OB/GYN. Best of luck.

Have you been trying to get pregnant? If it causes you to worry, try a test... see what you get. If negative, see what happens next month when your period would normally be due. If you feel a pregnancy is possible, treat yourself as if you are until you know one way or the other for sure... start on prenatal vitamins, make any lifestyle changes that you know would be beneficial, etc.. Obviously, if you feel other possible symptoms before next month, let your doctor know and they will conduct their own test... either urine or blood.

Most doctors consider brown spotting as a sign of pregnancy!

Errrrm, not the doctors I know. LOL

This can be the beginning of a period. However, since the OP was April 9, I hope she knows by now.
