A little upfront info... house is 40-something years old (we've lived in it a year, was empty 2 years before that), toilets are a couple of months old, on city sewer.
One side of the kitchen sink started gurgling when washer would drain. When toilet 1 was flushed, the tub would gurgle. Toilet 1 started having issues and would fill up almost to the seat. I plunged it (the whole time hearing the lovely gurgle from the tub!), and water went down. It flushes and fills up okay 50% of the time, the other half filling up way too far. Toilet 2 likes to run... a lot. When toilet 2 was flushed, the sink and shower both started gurgling. Last night a little water spewed out from the sink. Totally freaked out by that (the whole evil sewer monster thing).
Everything seems to drain fine, flush fine, etc. other than the issues I've mentioned. I was thinking it was a clogged vent pipe, but I looked at the roof and we have like 4... would every toilet and sink be retarded with just one clogged or is it some freak occurrence that all are blocked/clogged? Are the vent pipes even the problem? I read about snaking, but I'm scared of using the wrong size and it getting stuck.
My husband "doesn't do" plumbing (among other things), and my father just laughed saying he could fix it if I paid him what I'd pay a plumber (yeah, kind of poor now, no.) So, I'm basically clueless.
Thanks in advance!
