I need to replace an Eljer shower diverter.. this is the 3-knob style shower diverter.. after removing the handle and the stem nut I see a large flat washer with two flat sides on it.. I can see threads in along the large flat washer but can not budge with just hand pressure.:mad: :mad: .Another dilemma I am facing is I understand Eljer went out of business about 5yrs ago.. Any assistance on this can be greatly appreciated.. How can I get this diverter out with out tearing it up.. going crazy??

Alive and doing well, Eljer, Inc. (http://www.eljer.com/) Click on distributers and fill in the info. You might try to put a crescent wrench onto those flat side of the washer, it isn't a washer.
