I have just realized that my wife can get SSN, but unfortunately I applied for her ITIN this year and filed Federal and State taxes and received refund too.
Now my question is if I apply for SSN now;
1) Can I file amended Tax Return for Federal and State Tax just to change SSN inplace of ITIN.
2) Will we able to get Stimules Payments for Married filing Jointly for 2007 returns? As this year we will not be getting stimiules payments due to wife's ITIN number.

Any suggestions / comments.

You need not worry. If you did not get full stimulus tax rebate in 2007, you will get balance after you file your 2008 tax return.

For more information on the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: Your U.S. Tax Return: Are You Eligible for 2008 Stimulus Tax Rebate Payment? (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html)

Thanks MukatA,
Is that mean, no need to file Amended tax return and my next year (2008) tax return will pay stimulus tax rebate?

If that is yes, then it is great news.
