In the state of Virginia, is there a tax break for hiring a felon?

These are normally done though independent groups funded by grants,
There are programs for some felons ( not all) if they get hired though a qualified program within the first year of getting out of jail. The incentive isup to 2400 dollars for the employer.

Hello sam:

I highly doubt it. That would mean the legislature is doing something about helping felons get their life back on track...

However, MOST legislatures today, only want to increase sentences for felons - NOT help them...

Hello again, sam:

As noted, you are good people.

I must offer the following, however: After my latest release, I had to live in a half-way house for short time. While living there, I got a great job as a manager for a top of the line restaurant. Needing help (and thinking I'm a good person too), I hired guys from the half-way house.

Sure, MOST of them worked out. But, after closing one night, this guy, who begged me for the job, and actually worked his a$$ off, came right up to the cash register and took it - the whole damn thing...

So, the moral to my story is this: Continue to be good people. Hire him, don't let him near money, and watch him like a hawk.

This person has done his time and paid for his crime, I think it's great that you are hiring him and giving him another chance.

Like excon said I would keep him away from the cash, but other than that I think your boyfriend will be pleasantly surprised by his new employee, at least I hope so.

I don't know if you get a tax break, but it's something worth looking in to, the less you have to pay the better I always say.

Good luck!
