I have a lump on the side of my penis
It is there when it is erect and not erect
I don't know what to do
It is not painful to touch, but if I use my penis then it is painful. It can become swollen from use too.
It is not a different colour at all
It is quite a big lump too
It does not affect me getting an erection or performing at all but I really don't know what to do and I am very worried about it.
I have read a lot of these mens health forums and can't find anything about something like this, I just don't know what to do.

Like is/was it a pimple?
Did it have a white head?

Nope no pimple, much too big for that
It is under the skin

Have this looked at as it sounds like the beginnings of herpes. Herpes can start like that and with each successive outbreak get to the point where there are actual blisters that form. Please consult a dr about this to be sure what you have and/or don't have. Second guessing on the internet is just that - second guessing.

It could also just be a cyst.
Maybe, maybe not.

It can't be herpes, don't you need to have sex to get that? Because I've never had sex.
What exactly is a cyst?
Its not really painful by the way, I've never had a problem with it much tbh. It is just sore to touch sometimes after I've been using my penis

A cyst is like a pimple but bigger.
And I think cysts are painful.
I'm not sure

Well as I said, its not like a pimple because its under the skin, and its not actually part of the skin, I think its part of the actual muscle.

I just joined this site for what might be a similar reason.
I'll explain my bump and the past experience and you can judge.
The bump is under the skin, maybe in the interior tissue (does the penis have muscle in it?); but at any rate it is close to the surface.
The bump itself might be about the size of a BB, give or take a millimeter or two.
The bump is usually not painful, but today my bump is a very little painful.
This is the 20th odd time this has happened in maybe ten or fifteen years.
The bump is certainly related to masturbation. As it occurs after many days of... fierce... masturbation. It only seems to happen when the masturbation is by hand directly, not when a cream is used, not ever from sex.
The bump reduces after the first couple of days until it goes away in from a week too much longer, maybe six weeks, in particular longer if masturbation or sex goes on.
The bump(s) as there have sometimes been more than one at a time are often suspiciously where pressure from the hand is applied to the penis. The location (from me) has been at the top front of the shaft, on the left side, and also on the back.
The bump is harder and more pronounced when the penis is erect.
I'm thinking some sort of damage to the blood supply system, maybe something like a hemeroid [sic], or some inflammation or separated or damaged tissue, a subcutaneous infection...
Sum up: The shortest a bump has persisted is about ten days, the longest about six weeks. It gets smaller as the days pass. It occurs after masturbation, especially when the masturbation has gone on for a few days, or when the erection is not really full, or the masturbation has been very vigorous. More masturbation, or sex seems to prolong the bump. The bumps seem to occur in places where the hand might have stressed or damaged the tissue or the internal workings of the penis.
