I have a new Bosch dishwaster. However, I have two problem which may or may not be related.

1. The knives and forks are coming out with a rust-type substance on some of them (not all). It washes off easily, but where is it coming from.

2. When you start the dishwasher up and then run the cold water in the kitchen sink which is next to it, the water coming out of the faucet is rusty/dirty looking. After the dishwasher is done with its wash, the water coming out of the kitchen sink faucet is fine. I checked the other faucets in the home (bathroom) and the water coming out of them is clean and fine during the dishwasher cycle.

Do you run the hot water until it is really hot before you turn your dishwasher on? If not, try doing that. If your dishwasher still has the rust on the utensils, I'd call up the manufacturer and ask them what's the deal. You should not have rusty water coming out of your faucet. Who hooked up the machine?
